LAKENHEATH
CORONAVIRUS ACTION

Jointly supported by Lakenheath Parish Council, District and County Councillors,
Lakenheath Good Neighbours, Emergency Resilience Committee and other Community Groups.

Lakenheath coronavirus action group would like to thank again our community for the help and support that has been shown to the most vulnerable in the village. We have a wonderful band of volunteers and businesses whose help and kindness has been much appreciated by those in need.

Volunteers have continued to help with shopping, picking up prescriptions, posting mail and regular phone calls to our village members who are self-isolating. They are a really fabulous bunch of people who are going beyond the call of duty to ensure that anyone in need can be helped.

As always, our Good Neighbours’ team have been on hand with regular support and phone contact and we have also been maintaining contact with our neighbours highlighted as vulnerable on the Emergency Action Plan.

We would also like to thank our Community Food Bank who have been working tirelessly to ensure that supplies have been delivered to the most vulnerable in our society. They are based within the Abundant Life Church in Back Street.  If you wish to make a donation to the foodbank please contact 01842 860851.

And finally, here at the Lakenheath Coronavirus Group we will continue to provide support to our community.  Now that lockdown restrictions are easing and calls to the line are reducing, the phone line times will change from Monday 3rd August.

New times - Monday to Friday 9am to midday.

Please call 01842 860598.

Stay safe.

  •
  • If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at all times.
  • Wash your hands as soon as you get home.

You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.

Anyone who is vulnerable, at home and with no other support from family or friends available to them, can also call the
Home But Not Alone freephone 0800 876 6926
which is staffed from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week.

SCAMS
Please don’t hand over cash to anyone coming randomly to the door volunteering to do your shopping.  If a volunteer working with this group is assigned to help you in this way, security mechanisms are in place to protect you against fraud.  DO NOT allow anyone in wearing protective clothing pretending to be ‘official’.

FOOD BANK
There is a food bank available in the village.  Please contact the Action Group if you require information.
